People in the News: 'Mad Men's' Jon Hamm guest stars on '30 Rock'

Jon Hamm, who plays advertising executive Don Draper on AMC's "Mad Men," will portray the love interest of Tina Fey's character Liz Lemon on NBC's "30 Rock."

Could it last?

"I just finished a couple of episodes, and I'll go back in the new year and do another one of those, and then we'll see what happens," Hamm said Tuesday.

  • The date for Jane Fonda's return to Broadway after an absence of more than four decades has been set.

    Fonda will open March 9 in "33 Variations," a drama written and directed by Moises Kaufman. The play concerns a musicologist and her study of Beethoven's fascination with a particular piece of music.

    Preview performances begin Feb. 9 for a run that ends May 24. Fonda was last on Broadway in 1963 in a revival of Eugene O'Neill's "Strange Interlude."
