Judd and Meryl's itinerary:

Dec. 12, 1999 The Polar Star departs from Hobart, Australia with Judd and Meryl aboard.

Dec. 17, 1999 First sighting of the Antarctic ice. Judd and Meryl first set foot on Antarctica at Cape Denison.

Dec. 23, 1999 The crew stops to repair an automated weather station near Point Martin on Antarctica's Adelie Coast.

Dec. 25, 1999 The crew of the Polar Star celebrated Christmas off the Antarctic coast, 30 miles from McMurdo.

Dec. 26, 1999 The Polar Star dispatches a team by helicopter to Franklin Island to repair another automated weather station.

Dec. 28, 1999 The Polar Star breaks through the final three miles of ice to McMurdo Sound, clearing a channel for cargo transports to reach the U.S. base.

Jan. 1, 2000 On New Year's Day the ship hove to at 77 degrees, 43 minutes south latitude, 160 degrees, 9 minutes east longitude, encountering only minor Y2K glitches, and the crew disembarked for liberty on the ice at 9 p.m.

Jan. 2, 2000 Judd and Meryl leave the Polar Star by helicopter and settle into guest quarters at McMurdo Station.

Jan. 3, 2000 Our intrepid duo takes a whirlwind helicopter tour of the region around McMurdo.

Jan. 7, 2000 Judd and Meryl leave Antarctica and fly to Christchurch, New Zealand.

Jan. 8, 2000 The trip home and the end of their adventure
