New germ-killing spray safe for kids, pets

Finally, someone is tapping the market for a cleaning spray you can lick right off the counter. The Clorox folks have come out with something they call "Anywhere Hard Surface" sanitizing spray. And they don't just mean you can use it in the kitchen and the bathroom.

They claim you can safely spray it on your baby's pacifier and pop it right back in Junior's squalling mouth with nary a wipe down because it is so darned harmless.

And yet, it's supposed to kill 99.9 percent of germs that cause illness. The idea is that you can sanitize around your pets and kids without the fear of causing chemical burns, sterility, brain damage or any of the other things we parents and pet lovers tend to worry about.

You can get 22 ounces of peace of mind for $2.99 at your local grocery or drugstore. (Cheryl Reid-Simons)
