Rainiers fall

SALT LAKE CITY -- Gary Johnson hit a two-run homer on a 3-2 pitch in the first inning and two Salt Lake pitchers combined on a seven-hitter as the Stingers beat the Tacoma Rainiers 3-2 last night in Pacific Coast League action.

Rainiers starter Chris Wright (0-5) took the loss, giving up three runs on four hits in five innings.
