Zapp sets mark

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

TACOMA -- Rainiers first baseman A.J. Zapp had a notable game in last night's 7-2 win over Sacramento.

In the fourth inning, Zapp broke the PCL record for most strikeouts in a season at 176. Later, he homered for his 101st RBI, the first Tacoma player to reach 100 since Dan Rohrmeier in 1998.
