Washington Technology Center gives grants to 6 companies
The Washington Technology Center awarded $688,000 in grants last month, providing early-stage funding to a range of companies.
Survival Inc., a Seattle developer of body armor, will use the money to continue research on a lightweight protective suit that could provide ballistic protection for those in the military or law enforcement. The company has joined with Brian Flinn, a professor at the University of Washington's Department of Materials Science, to develop the body armor.
Sterling International, a Spokane maker of pest control products; VizX Labs, a Seattle life sciences company; InnovaTek, a Richland fuel processor company; Intelligent Ion, a mass spectrometer maker; and YK Products, an Everett company with a new asphalt technology, also received grants.
