Home sales jump over 14 percent in King County

SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER STAFF

Wherever home prices are going in King County, buyers are following for now, at least.

Pending home sales surged 14.6 percent in King County, despite a 17.1 percent jump in price.

That price increase means the median home in King County costs $385,000 in August -- $56,000 more than the median home cost in August 2004.

King County sellers looking to take advantage of the hot market put 349 more homes up for sale this August than last. But those homes only lasted on the market for 37 days in August before being sold -- 6 days less than August of last year.
