Help for Firefox users
Readers using the Firefox browser may encounter problems viewing some of the comic strips in our "Fun & Games" section, including "Beetle Bailey," "Blondie," "Funky Winkerbean," "The Phantom" and others distributed by King Features Syndicate.
The image files for these strips are not hosted on SeattlePI.com's servers; they are delivered directly by the syndicator. If Firefox is configured to load images only from the same site that served the current page, it will not display the strips.
To fix this problem, you must reconfigure Firefox.
Here's what you need to do:
1. Select "Options ..." from the "Tools" menu in Firefox (or, if you're running Mac OS, select "Preferences ..." from the "Firefox" menu).
2. Click the "Web Features" icon in the left pane of the window that appears.
3. There are two ways to fix the problem:
a. Quick fix: Under "Load Images," uncheck the option "for the originating web site only."
(Note: This will let you view our comics but may also allow Firefox to load Web bugs and other hidden graphics. The other fix, detailed below, avoids that.)
b. More specific fix: Under "Load Images," leave the option "for the originating web site only" checked. Then click the "Exceptions" button, type in the address "rbma.com" and click "Allow." Then click "OK."
4. Click "OK" to close the "Options" or "Preferences" box.
