Help for Norton Internet Security 2005 users

Readers using Norton Internet Security 2005 from Symantec may encounter problems viewing some of the comic strips in our "Fun & Games" section, including "Beetle Bailey," "Blondie," "Funky Winkerbean," "The Phantom" and others distributed by King Features Syndicate.

By default, Norton Internet Security prevents Web browsers from transmitting the URL of the current Web page when requesting a graphic or new document from another site. Reed Brennan Media Associates, which serves King Features' online cartoons, will not display them if its software cannot verify that a reader is coming from SeattlePI.com.

To fix this problem, you must reconfigure Norton to pass the required information to this specific Web site. Doing so will not change your other security settings.

Here's what you need to do:

(Note: Directions are also available for Norton Internet Security 2004, Norton Personal Firewall 2003 and older versions.)

1. Open "Norton Internet Security" and click "Privacy Control" on the main screen.
