PETA seeks Sexiest Vegetarian Alive

In a bid (we're not saying a bad one, mind you) to make vegetarianism appear less freaky to this meat-eatin' world, the folks at PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) are holding a Sexiest Vegetarian Alive contest.

We checked it out for ourselves (www.GoVeg.com) and hot dang, there are some fiiiiine vegetarians out there -- and they're not celebrities, either. ... These are the boy/girl "next door" types. Certainly not in our neighborhood. Anyway.

They're down to the finalists, and one of Seattle's own, rock-climbing instructor Jake Hjorten, has made the cut. If you think he's dreamy (we do), go to the Web site and vote for him by March 11. Results will be announced March 15.
