Web auction offers gift-giving for non-profits
If holiday shopping leaves you feeling empty, there's a better way to buy gifts. At least "better" in the sense of its being a palliative for the soul.
At biddingforgood.com you can pick up, say, a hot-air balloon ride if you're the highest bidder, and the cash you drop will go to a Seattle-based non-profit, the National Eating Disorders Association.
Want to give to non-local charities? No problem, proceeds from the auctioning of VIP tickets to a taping of Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" will benefit the Adirondack Mountain Club. Other gifts up for bid benefit more than a hundred non-profits all over the country, so you can act locally and give, well, nationally.
