Green is the new black

At least in Seattle this week.

Green Fashion Week, a production of the Zella Company and Earth Pledge, begins Tuesday at 5 p.m. with a "Mad Dash for Fashion" private shopping event -- including a chance to win a pair of Manolo Blahniks -- and wraps up Saturday with an "Eco-fashion" runway show and after-party at Bell Harbor International Conference Center on the waterfront.

In between there's a book-release party for Earth Pledge's "FutureFashion White Papers" and a "Green Choices" panel discussion (Wednesday, 7 p.m., El Gaucho restaurant), a designers' trunk show with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres (Thursday, 5 p.m., El Gaucho Pampas Room), and a private cocktail reception with model and eco-activist Summer Rayne Oakes (Saturday, 6:30 p.m., Bell Harbor Conference Center).

Ticket prices range from light green ($50 for the runway show and after-party) to serious green ($425 for VIP access to all events). For tickets and more information, go to fw07.com.
