Muckleshoots complete land purchase

SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER STAFF

The Muckleshoot Indian Tribe bought the land beneath the Emerald Downs horse track in Auburn for $73.6 million yesterday, completing a purchase announced in November, King County tax records show.

The tribe bought the land, totaling more than 150 acres, from La Terra LP, a limited partnership led by developer Mario Segale, records show. The purchase price had not previously been disclosed. Northwest Racing Associates continues to own the track, buildings and other improvements, while leasing the land beneath them.
