Sex offender held in death of woman
Police were holding a registered sex offender yesterday in connection with the death of a Pierce County woman missing since Jan. 8.
Police found the body of Carol Lynn Perez-Galvez, 37, in an undisclosed location on Fort Lewis property around 4:30 p.m. yesterday.
A suspect, a registered sex offender, was arrested Thursday on an unrelated matter after a car chase on the Fort Lewis military reservation, Pierce County sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said.
Troyer told KOMO/4 that Perez-Galvez made a 911 call from her cell phone on Jan. 8 that dispatchers could not track. Her personal belongings were found scattered along a road near Rainier in southern Thurston County.
Her car was found earlier in the day in the Tenino High School parking lot. Tenino is just west of Rainier, south of Olympia.
Perez-Galvez lived near unincorporated Woodbrook, near Lakewood
