In Auburn, Federal Way, Mercer Island, Renton and the Riverview School District, tax measures designed to raise money for an array of educational purposes drew support on more than 60 percent of the ballots, the threshold set by state law for approval, according to late returns.
The Auburn School District sought approval for a two-year, $37 million levy to cover general operating expenses, a measure that would replace an expiring impost.
A second proposal, for $2.1 million in increased borrowing over two years to pay for school buses and other transportation expenses, also went before voters.
The Federal Way School District proposed a four-year, $122 million operating levy that would replace an expiring measure.
A second Federal Way levy would trigger a new tax to raise $10.8 million over six years to buy computers and pay for other technology upgrades.
On Mercer Island, voters were deciding on a four-year, $4.8 million proposal to replace an expiring levy for maintenance and technology expenses at the schools.
In Renton, the school board asked for $78.5 million in taxing authority over four years for general operations, in hopes of replacing an expiring levy.
In the Riverview School District, which runs schools in Carnation and Duvall, voters were deciding on a pair of two-year measures: a $8.3 million replacement levy for general operations; and a fresh $1.3 million proposal for technology improvements.
