State reaches pact with two more unions
OLYMPIA -- Two more unions have reached tentative agreements with the state on contracts that would give employees a 4.8 percent pay raise over the next two years.
"We understand that the state isn't rolling in the dough, but it's been a long, dry spell," said Leslie Liddle, executive director of the Washington Public Employees Association.
The contracts, negotiated earlier this month, cover about 5,500 state workers in the WPEA and in the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers. The pay raises and health benefit provisions match those in the contract negotiated with the largest state workers union.
