Woman dies in fall trying to rescue dog

SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER STAFF

ENUMCLAW -- A woman out walking her dog died yesterday in a 400-foot fall from a cliff, KOMO/4 reporeted.

The woman was walking her dog near Mud Mountain Dam when the animal slipped and fell down the cliff.

She fell when she tried to rescue the dog, KOMO/4 quoted police as saying.

Medics from Enumclaw Rescue One were able to reach the woman, but it was too late.

The King County Medical Examiner's Office sent personnel to the scene.

The woman's name was not released last night.
