State senator's son charged in drug case
TACOMA -- The son of longtime Republican state Sen. Pam Roach has been charged with drug and weapons violations, according to court records.
Stephen Andrew Roach was charged Friday in Pierce County Superior Court with several counts of delivering the prescription narcotic OxyContin, court records indicate. Details of what led to those charges were not available last night.
Stephen Roach, whose mother has gained notoriety for her partisan combativeness, frequent shopping for public office and for her conservative law-and-order agenda, is also the brother of state Rep. Dan Roach, R-Bonney Lake.
Neither Stephen Roach nor his mother could be reached for comment last night. Reached by telephone last night, Stephen Roach's father declined comment.
