Former patient sues suspended doctor
A former patient has sued Bill Schnall, a pediatrician whose license was suspended in August amid allegations that he engaged in improper and sexually explicit behavior with troubled adolescent patients.
The malpractice suit, filed Thursday in King County Superior Court by an unnamed plaintiff, accuses Schnall of improperly prescribing psychiatric medication and conducting "behavior modification therapy" in an attempt to groom the patient, now 16, for sexual contact.
"This man should never be allowed near children again," said Seattle lawyer Anne Bremner, who, along with Jed Powell, represents the former patient. "Our client has been irrevocably damaged by Dr. Schnall."
Schnall, a Richmond Beach doctor who has practiced for nearly 30 years and recently served as president of the medical staff of Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle, has denied the allegations and said he plans to fight for his license.
