By ERIC NALDER
P-I INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER
Sheriff's Deputy Bryan Anthony Hill, a 13-year veteran, has been disciplined for a range of misbehavior, from excessive force to cheating on his off-duty pay, documents show.
He joined the transit unit in 2000 and left it early this year. He was transferred to the precinct in Kenmore. Hill did not respond to a request to comment.
Department documents show:
- A corrective memo in 1993 for a rule violation deemed to be "conduct unbecoming" a police officer.
- A reprimand for incompetence and excessive force in 1997 when Hill illegally entered a Kent home without a warrant to arrest a 14-year-old for shooting fireworks.
- A memo of corrective counseling in 2004 for behavior his sergeant described as intimidating.
- A reprimand in 2005 for choosing to go to a restroom when dispatched to provide a "fast backup" to Seattle police officers a few blocks away.
- Three-day suspension in 2005 for being paid by a private agency to provide security at a concert while on the county payroll.
- A reprimand in May for failing to notify his supervisor that he was ill and unable to work.
- Failure to respond to a request to contact a crime victim in person by slamming down a computer keyboard and ignoring the request.
- Disobeying orders and being rude to tellers at the scene of a bank robbery.
