Donations taken to help Market farmers
About 40 of the 90 farmers that sell at Pike Place Market suffered losses in the recent floods, many of them immigrants in the Snoqualmie Valley and in South King County.
To help them, the Pike Place Market Foundation is collecting donations to its Farmer Relief Fund. Checks payable to the Market Foundation may be sent to Market Foundation, Farmer Relief Fund, 85 Pike St., Room 500, Seattle, WA 98101.
Online donations may be made at pikeplacemarket.org by clicking "Community Resources" and then "Market Foundation." "Farmer Relief Fund" should be typed in the notes section of the donation form.
For more information, call Scott Davies at 206-774-5257.
