Detectives are investigating a possible hit-and-run collision that left a 40-year-old bicyclist dead along a roadside in eastern Pierce County early yesterday.
A passer-by found Robert Frederick Stewart of Graham lying near his damaged bicycle at about 4:17 a.m. in the 7700 block of 304th Street East, said Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer. Stewart died later at Madigan Army Hospital at Fort Lewis.
"We're not ruling out the possibility that a large truck may have clipped him and didn't know it," Troyer added.
