Westlake's 'Charlie Brown' tree draws criticism

 The tree in Westlake Plaza

Oh, tannenbaum, you're not getting much respect this holiday season -- at least at Westlake Plaza.

That's been the reaction of some who found the 60-foot-tall fir less than delightful. In the Emerald City of the Evergreen State, a scraggly tree with a loose complement of branches seemed out of place.

Workers on Tuesday were adding ornamentation -- and a few extra boughs -- to the beleaguered tree. But they're running low on time. The tree lighting, a seasonal staple, will take place at 5 p.m. Friday to mark the unofficial start of Christmas shopping.
