Holiday Closures: What's open and closed Thursday and Friday

Here's a listing of what's open and closed Thursday, Thanksgiving Day. Friday's closures are also listed.

Banks: Closed Thursday.

Major city halls: Closed Thursday and Friday.

Regional county offices: Closed Thursday and Friday.

State offices: Closed Thursday and Friday.

Federal offices: Closed Thursday.

State courts: Closed Thursday and Friday.

Federal courts: Closed Thursday.

Schools: Closed Thursday and Friday.

Colleges and universities: Closed Thursday and Friday.

Libraries: Closed Thursday.

U.S. Postal Service: No mail delivery Thursday, except for Express Mail.

Community Transit: Buses will be on Sunday schedule Thursday, with some schedule changes Friday. For details, visit commtrans.org or call 800-562-1375.

Metro: Buses will be on Sunday schedule Thursday, some routes canceled Friday. No Seattle waterfront bus Thursday (Metro Route 99). The downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel will be closed Thursday.

Pierce Transit: Buses will be on Sunday schedule Thursday.

Sound Transit: Buses will be on Sunday schedule Thursday. No Sounder service Thursday.

Ferries: Some runs will operate on a Saturday or holiday schedule Thursday. For details, visit wsdot.wa.gov/ferries or call 888-808-7977.

Garbage: No garbage, yard waste or recycling collected Thursday in Seattle. Thursday's regular pickup will be done Friday; Friday's pickup will be done Saturday. The city's two recycling and disposal stations will be closed Thursday.

Liquor stores: Closed Thursday.

Downtown retail businesses: Closed Thursday.

Parking meters: No parking enforcement Thursday.

Lottery: Offices closed Thursday and Friday.

Malls: Closed Thursday.

Seattle Aquarium: Open.

Museum of History and Industry: Closed Thursday.

Museum of Flight: Closed Thursday.

Pacific Science Center: Closed Thursday, but Boeing IMAX will be open.

Seattle parks: Open. Seattle Parks and Recreation administrative offices closed Thursday through Sunday.

Pike Place Market: Closed Thursday.

Woodland Park Zoo: Open.

Point Defiance Zoo: Closed Thursday.

Roads: The annual Macy's Holiday Parade begins at 8:45 a.m. Friday. It begins on Seventh Avenue, heads west on Pine Street, turns south on Fifth Avenue to University Street, west to Fourth Avenue and north to Macy's. The ramp from southbound Interstate 5 to Union Street will be closed from 8:30 to 10 a.m.

Supermarket hours Thanksgiving Day: Safeway -- open regular hours; QFC -- open until 6 p.m.; Albertsons -- open until 4 p.m.; Fred Meyer -- open until 4 p.m.; PCC Natural Markets -- closed; Top Foods -- open regular hours; Trader Joe's -- closed; Whole Foods Market -- 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
