The body of the man believed to have been the shooter in a Renton robbery has been recovered from the Green River, where police found the suspected getaway vehicle.
Another suspect in the robbery has been arrested and is in jail while a third man remains at large, Renton police spokeswoman Penny Bartley said.
A 39-year-old Seattle man who was shot during the robbery attempt was critically injured and taken to Harborview Medical Center where he underwent surgery. A hospital spokeswoman said he is in serious condition in intensive care.
Police were called to the shooting at 3000 Royal Hills Drive S.E. around 7:20 p.m. Monday. They found the victim lying next to his car, shot in the back.
The third suspect still at large is believed to have been the driver of the vehicle found in the river.
