A Friday afternoon rush-hour collision sent a car plunging off a Mercer Street offramp guardrail to Broad Street about 30 feet below, authorities said.
The driver was conscious and able to crawl from the car, which landed on its roof about 5:30 p.m., according to Seattle Fire Department spokeswoman Helen Fitzpatrick said.
Before flying over the guardrail, the car collided with another vehicle on Mercer. The driver of that car had to be extricated, but also was alert.
Both drivers were taken to Harborview Medical Center, Fitzpatrick said.
