Sen. John McCain will bring his campaign back to the Seattle area Tuesday when he participates in an environmental roundtable in North Bend and a fundraiser at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue.
The North Bend event, which is not open to the public, is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Cedar River Watershed Education Center. The Center is the gateway to the Cedar River Municipal Watershed, which provides drinking water for 70% of 1.4 million people living in the greater Seattle area, according to the city's Web site.
McCain has scheduled a 5 p.m., $10,000 per person photo reception at the Hyatt, followed by a $2,300 per person VIP reception and a $1,000 general reception. A Victory Dinner that costs $33,100 per person begins at 7 p.m.
According to a Web site for the Bellevue event, the joint fundraising committee that organized it consists of the McCain presidential campaign, the Republican National Committee and the Republican parties of Colorado, Minnesota, New Mexico and Wisconsin -- potential battleground states in November. Some proceeds are expected to go to those state parties' federal accounts.
The visit by McCain, an Arizona senator who secured the Republican nomination on March 4, will follow a private event Monday in Portland, Ore. It will be McCain's first visit here since a Feb. 8 when he addressed more than 400 supporters following a brief appearance at a $2,300 per-person fundraising reception at the Westin Seattle hotel.
