A four-car accident in the Battery Street tunnel forced its temporary closure Tuesday afternoon.
The collision was reported at 1:45 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the road, Seattle police spokesman Jeff Kappel said.
The collision involved two trucks and two cars, but there were no injuries. The wreckage was blocking one lane of the roadway.
Kappel said the tunnel was closed as a precaution to allow police and firefighters to work on the scene safely.
