FIFE -- A fire that broke out about 5 a.m. Friday has destroyed the Firwood Tavern in Fife.
The roof and walls have collapsed, leaving only embers and twisted metal.
The fire took off so quickly that firefighters had to stay outside and attack the flames from defensive positions. They also depended on water tankers because of a lack of hydrants in the area.
There are no reports of injuries and no word yet on the cause.
The Firwood was a popular nightspot known for music and dancing.
