Two people were killed early Monday in Puyallup following a fiery crash that ejected one of the victims, leaving the other trapped in the burning vehicle.
The wreck happened around 1:30 a.m. on Canyon Road East near 112th Street East, the Pierce County Sheriff's Office reported.
Investigators believe the sports car, an orange Nissan 350ZX, was speeding north on Canyon Road when the driver attempted a right turn and began to slide.
Investigators found skid marks 191 feet long, sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said.
The car struck a curb and was flung up a concrete wall and through some metal fencing. Airborne for nearly 100 feet, the sports car crashed into the side of the Summit View Medical Clinic.
The impact ejected one occupant, who was thrown against a large rock near the building. The car's gas tank ruptured during the crash and it burst into flame.
Witnesses tried to rescue the person still trapped in the car, but were driven back by the heat and flames.
Investigators do not know who was driving and have not identified either of the victims.
