Cold, windy weather blows into Washington

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

SEATTLE -- The National Weather Service wind advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. for the interior of Western Washington from Everett north.

Forecasters say the cold front that moved in overnight brought 20-30 mph winds with gusts to 45 mph.

The Weather Service has a wind advisory until 8 p.m. for parts of Washington, including Wenatchee, Ellensburg, Moses Lake, Tri-Cities, Walla Walla, Spokane and Pullman. Forecasters expect 30-40 mph winds as the cold front passes.

The Weather Service says the snow level in the Olympics and Cascades has dropped to 4,000 feet. Local accumulations of 6 inches of snow are likely Tuesday in the North Cascades. That means snow for drivers on the Mount Baker Highway and North Cascades Highway.
