Oh oh! No advance screening is offered for 'Alien vs. Predator'

SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER STAFF

"Alien vs. Predator," one more attempt to cash in on two of 20th Century Fox's sci-fi horror franchises, opens today across the country. But there were no advance screenings for critics -- always an ominous sign -- so we can't publish a review today. It will run tomorrow.

We do know the film is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and stars Saana Lathan, Raoul Bova, Lance Henriksen and Ewen Bremner -- not exactly A-listers. And the premise is: a present-day archaeological expedition uncovers an Aztec temple buried in the Antarctic, which is used by young Predators to prove their street-cred by hunting Aliens bred there by a captive Alien queen. The film is rated PG-13 for violence, slime and gore.
