This Week's Hot Video: 'Munich'
Steven Spielberg's epic, true-life political thriller, "Munich," is the least commercial movie ever made by the cinema's most commercially successful filmmaker.
The story of the '72 Munich Olympic massacre and its aftermath opens with an account, interspersed with authentic TV news footage, of the Black September terrorist kidnapping of 11 Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympic Village and ends with their murders hours later.
In between, it tells the imagined story of the commando team charged with tracking and assassinating the ringleaders of the massacre. As they embark on their mission, "Munich" becomes less a thriller than a gangster saga, with its "family" bound in blood steadily losing touch with their moral compasses.
Stars include Eric Bana and Daniel Craig, the new James Bond. Rated R. The two-disc special edition includes featurettes on costume design to the on-set experience. (William Arnold)
