PORTLAND -- A 20-year-old woman who will spend her life in a wheelchair after a trampoline accident has filed a lawsuit against her former youth pastor.
Christi Freitag claims Pastor Matt Lambrecht should have realized when he climbed onto the trampoline three years ago at her family's Bandon home that his weight would cause her to catapult into the air. She landed on her neck.
Others named in the $33.5 million Multnomah County Circuit Court suit include the Archdiocese of Portland, the trampoline manufacturer and Legacy Emanuel Hospital & Health Center.
The suit claims that manufacturer A.J. Landmark failed to warn users about the dangers of "improper weight distribution."
