A 1936 photo shows a Mariner's Pageant parade traveling north along Commercial Avenue near 17th Street. The pageant was a community celebration of Anacortes' maritime heritage. It was held annually from 1936 to 1940, then suspended during World War II. It was last held in the late '40s.
