Neighborhood service center

Ballard's "little City Hall" is at 2305 N.W. Market St.

A range of information and help regarding city services, neighborhood grants, permits and programs is available 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Residents also can pay City Light and water, sewer, garbage bills as well as purchase pet licenses.

Each Tuesday a Seattle Municipal Court judge visits the center. All court hearings, however, must be scheduled in advance.

Community centers

  • Ballard Community Center is at 6020 28th Ave. N.W.

    The center offers an array of adult and youth programs, everything from craft classes to sport leagues.

    For a complete listing of programs stop by the center or pick up an activities brochure at the branch library.

    The center is open 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Monday-Friday. 684-4093

  • Loyal Heights Community Center is at 2101 Northwest 77th St. It offers many of the same programs as the Ballard center. 684-4052.

Parks

  • Golden Gardens Park, one of Seattle's best saltwater beaches, is north of the Shilshole Bay Marina on Seaview Avenue Northwest.

  • Ballard swimming pool is at 1471 N.W. 67th St. It is scheduled for a variety of classes and swimming programs and is open noon-9:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday; noon-8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday. The pool is closed Saturday. 684-4094.

Branch libraries

Ballard, 5711 24th Ave. N.W. Hours: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; Friday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sunday 1-5 p.m.; closed Thursdays. 684-4089.

Neighborhood Planning Office

The Neighborhood Planning Office was created to help Seattle neighborhoods shape the way they will grow and change over the next 20 years. The planning is community driven and everyone is welcome to get involved.

The association has a Web site at http://www.pan.ci.seattle.wa.us/community/ballard/.
