The last time Phillip Solano was on the USS Turner Joy was in 1967 in Vietnam, where he served as a sonar technician on the destroyer. The Turner Joy was built in Seattle in 1959 and is now a floating museum on Bremerton's waterfront. Solano was visiting from his home in New Mexico.
