The last time Phillip Solano was on the USS Turner Joy was in 1967 in Vietnam, where he served as a sonar technician on the destroyer. The Turner Joy was built in Seattle in 1959 and is now a floating museum on Bremerton's waterfront. Solano was visiting from his home in New Mexico.

Great views of Sinclair Inlet and the Manette Bridge, which links Bremerton with East Bremerton, are found on the waterfront deck of the Boat Shed Restaurant.

The Washington State Ferry System's M/V Chinook provides a windy, passenger-only ride between Bremerton and Seattle. The ferry is scheduled to make the crossing in 30 minutes at 30 knots.

While there are many vacant buildings in downtown Bremerton, including the Roxy Theater across the street from City Hall, major renovation is planned for the Sinclair Landing development.
