Residents of the Highline Fire District, which includes the Burien area, admire their modern new fire truck on Feb.8, 1938, purchased with money raised through community dances and other benefits. The new equipment was driven through the district with siren sounding and fire bell ringing, while crowds cheered the spotless, shining vehicle.
