The "Gold Coast"
To Do

  • Wetherill Nature Preserve -- A tranquil site on the south end of Cozy Cove between Hunts Point and Yarrow Point, the preserve covers 16 acres. Visitors may catch glimpses of waterfowl, songbirds, hawks and herons. The entrance is off Fairweather Trail, which runs along the north side of state Route 520 between Hunts Point Town Hall and a bus stop off 92nd Avenue Northeast. Open year-round during daylight hours.

  • Medina Park -- Two ponds separated by a stream mark the park, a popular spot to walk dogs, hold picnics or exercise on workout stations. The park is at the southwest corner of the intersection of Northeast 12th Street and 84th Avenue Northeast, just south of Overlake Golf & Country Club. A much smaller park with limited parking, but one with a waterfront, is Medina Beach Park next to City Hall at the south end of Evergreen Point Road.

  • Tully's Coffee -- One of just five retail businesses in the four communities -- the others are Wells Medina Nursery, Medina Grocery and two gas stations _ the coffeehouse at 8805 N.E. Points Drive is the lone public gathering spot for those seeking caffeine and conversation.
