Things to do while you're here

If you're visiting, check out these spots:

  • The Lakefront: There's no better way to pass the time on a crisp autumn afternoon than by taking a stroll along Lakeside Avenue and stopping at one of the recently opened "pocket parks" to take in the view of the water, the Cascades and Mount Rainier.

  • Leschi Park: On the south side of town, along Lakeside Avenue, is Leschi Park, with its grand trees and Victorian-style grounds. A perfect spot for a picnic lunch.

  • Daniel's Broiler: If you've got your heart set on a luscious steak and want a lovely view to go with it, Daniel's is well worth a visit. 200 Lake Washington Blvd. Seattle. 329-4191. Open for dinner 5-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 5-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 5-9:30 p.m. Sunday.
