On July 4, 1910, North Bend area pioneers gathered for a photo below towering Mount Si. The residents, all of whom had lived there 20 years or more, celebrated in the yard of North Bend founder William H. Taylor.

At the turn of the century, the North Bend livery was owned by Peter J. Maloney. He was also the town's first mayor.

In this view looking east on Sunset Way, motorists flocked to Sunset Garage around 1923. Downtown North Bend was dealt a blown when Interstate 90 opened in 1978. New retailers and restaurants sprouted near the interstate, slowing traffic and commerce in downtown.
