  • Sidney Museum and Log Cabin Museum -- Step back in time to see life-sized displays of early South Kitsap County life -- a general store, a school, a doctor's office -- in the Sidney Museum on the second floor of the Sidney Gallery, 202 Sidney St. Open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Free admission. 360-876-3693. The Log Cabin Museum at 416 Sidney Ave. is a restored cabin built in 1914. Open 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays and by appointment. Donations accepted. 360-876-3993.

  • South Kitsap Community Park -- A miniature steam train, skateboard ramps, ball fields, playgrounds and nature trails fill 200 acres near the intersection of Jackson and Lund streets southeast of downtown. 360-895-1551.

  • Farmer's Market -- Fruits, vegetables, flowers, plants, baked goods, eggs and more are sold from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays through Oct. 30 at the waterfront park. 360-876-8632.

  • Concerts by the Bay -- County and western, blues, rock 'n' roll and other free concerts with family appeal take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays from July 8 through Aug. 19 at the waterfront park. 800-982-8139.

  • Chris Craft Rendezvous -- Owners of mostly wooden Chris Craft yachts will fill the marina for free public viewing from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 16. 360-876-5535.

  • The Cruz -- About 700 custom show cars will be on display along the waterfront starting at 10 a.m. Aug. 8. 800-982-8139.

  • Fore! -- Golfers can choose from a handful of courses, including the new Trophy Lake Golf & Casting 360-874-8337, which offers fishing as well. McCormick Woods 800-323-0130 is a championship course. Other local spots are Horseshoe Lake 800-843-1564, Clover Valley 360-871-2236 and Village Greens 360-871-1222.
