Tukwila celebrated its founding July 4, 1908, with fireworks and "athletic events for boys and men," according to a story in the Post-Intelligencer.

Dr. Frederick Nichols posed with his wife and nurse, Ella Wadell, in front of their first home/office at South 128th and East Marginal Way around 1913. They later built the Riverton Hospital, which still stands at 13041 E. Marginal Way.

The Interurban, which operated between 1902 and 1928, transformed the Duwamish Valley communities, including the area once known as Riverton. This 1912 photo shows people gathered at a collision of two electric train cars.
