If you're visiting, check out these spots:

  • Museum of Flight, 9404 East Marginal Way South, offers aviation buffs a wide variety of exhibits including a Boeing-built plane that served as Air Force One for Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy and Johnson. Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. Admission: $8 for adults, $7 for senior citizens 65 or older and $4 for children 6 to 15. Children under 6 enter free.

  • Tukwila Community Center, 12424 42nd Ave. S. This $8 million, year-old community center has it all. The 12-acre site includes basketball, racquetball and tennis courts; banquet facilities; fitness and arts and crafts rooms; a dance studio; a game room for senior citizens; softball and soccer fields; a ballroom; and more. Hours: 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Closed Sunday. Admission for drop-in adults ranges from $2 to $4, depending on the activity. The entrance fee varies from $1 to $2 for youths and seniors.

  • Southcenter Mall, at the intersection of Interstates 5 and 405, was one of the nation's first and largest malls when it opened in 1968, and has remained popular with shoppers since. Hours: 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11Êa.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

  • Christensen Greenbelt Park, nestled among commercial developments and light industry, is a narrow strip of open space along the Green River. The recreational trail lies on the west side of the river and runs for 2.6Êmiles from just south of I-405 to just south of South 180th Street. It features a fitness course with 20 exercise stations and play areas for kids. A good place to park and start is Bicentennial Park off Strander Boulevard between Interurban Avenue South and Andover Park East.
