If you're visiting, check out these spots:

  • July Jubilee Days is a two-day street fair featuring a parade, ethnic foods, crafts, games for kids and two live entertainment stages. This Seafair-related event is scheduled for July 19 and 20. Planning is under way at the White Center Chamber of Commerce. For information, call 763-4196.

  • White Center Home Garden Tour is organized by Peggy and Glenn Weiss, who select about 10 local gardens each summer. Now in its fourth year, the free, self-guided tour attracts hundreds. This year's tour is scheduled for July 26. For information, call the Weisses at 767-6337.

  • Lakewood Park is White Center's prettiest park and even has a Frisbee course. It also has three picnic shelters that can accommodate up to 100 people, and a swimming beach at Lake Garrett. For information about the park, at 11050 10th Ave. S.W., or to reserve a shelter, call 296-4287.
