Koos, who will make his second Olympic appearance, grew up skiing in the Cascade Mountains and began cross-country racing at 12. ... Skied for the University of Utah, where he was a three-time All-American. A sprinter, Koos made his World Cup debut on Jan. 14, 2001, at Soldier Hollow, Utah, when he finished 12th in a 1.5km F sprint. ... Finished 29th in the 1.5km F sprint at the 2001 Worlds and the next year made the U.S. Olympic team.
