Meeting the need
The need to improve the lives of local people did not depart with Christmas' arrival yesterday.
For a quarter-century, Seattle Post-Intelligencer readers have donated generously to the newspaper's annual Readers Care Fund drive. They have generated more than $5 million for area charities.
One of the beneficiaries is Powerful Voices, a non-profit service in King County that offers workshops, internships and other services to give middle-school girls -- including those who have tangled with the law -- the tools to become successful young women.
P-I readers can still help make the season -- and the future -- brighter for their neighbors.
