Found on eBay: A larger-than-life Stallone statue
Looking for a truly unique lawn ornament? How about a 10-foot-tall bronze statue of Sylvester Stallone?
It was originally erected near the Philadelphia Museum of Art, at the top of the steps made famous by the original "Rocky," for "Rocky III." ("Paper champion?" Rocky should have laid Clubber Lang out at the unveiling, right then and there. But we digress.)
Snooty types later clashed over whether the statue constituted "art." It was moved to a spot in front of the Spectrum, moved back to the art museum for a scene in "Rocky V," then back to the Spectrum, where it now stands. It is being auctioned to benefit a Pennsylvania non-profit organization.
Bidding starts at $1 million (no takers so far; the auction ends Oct. 1). That might sound steep, but worldwide shipping of the two-ton item is included.
