Preview: Sounders vs. Toronto

  • WHEN: Tonight, 7 p.m.

  • WHERE: Memorial Stadium

  • SOUNDERS THROW-INS: Winners of eight in a row and a perfect 8-0 at home, the A-League-leading Sounders fear nothing but a letdown. Coach Brian Schmetzer's squad (18-2) clinched the Western Conference's Pacific Division title and a first-round playoff bye last week, and is fresh off a 4-1 victory over Vancouver on Sunday in front of 25,515 fans at the opening of Seahawks Stadium. The squad is led by a scoring trifecta as Brian Ching (30 points), Leighton O'Brien (25) and Darren Sawatzky (24) rank 1-2-3 in league scoring. Midfielder Andrew Gregor was named to the A-League team of the week after his two-goal performance against Vancouver.

  • TORONTO THROW-INS: The Lynx are 7-10-3 and third in the Eastern Conference's Northeast Division with 33 points. Niki Budalic paces the squad in goals (10) and points (20), but production falls off after his numbers. Nikola Vignevic is the team's second-leading scorer with 10 points. The Lynx have scored 24 goals and allowed 26, while goalkeeper Theo Zagar has 81 saves with a 1.28 goals-against average.

  • HEAD-TO-HEAD: The two teams are meeting for the first time this season.
